I am so excited to share some wedding wine country magic with you guys today! Campovida, a beautiful winery situated in Hopland, is a gem I discovered through the talented wedding planner, Emily Coyne, who specializes in destination weddings in Napa and surrounding wine country.

At least 90% of the weddings we design and plan are destination events. I love designing these weddings because the destination itself becomes such a foundation for my inspiration. Whatever location in the world each couple chooses, they do so because they have fallen in love with that area and wish to share it with their guests. Feeling that sense of place within the design... Gifting your guests with subtle, almost subconscious nods to the destination... It allows for a completely immersive and delightful experience. We wanted to create a design with an effortless sense of place about it, and chose Campovida as our backdrop.

Brides will often ask me about the "getting ready" portion of the wedding day, and wonder how necessary these pictures are. Anya found these gorgeous silk robe, and pant set from BHLDN and we knew instantly that we wanted to show how special the wedding morning is and how important it is to savor these moments.

Of course we had to incorporate flowers into the "getting ready" look too and Natasha spontaneously decided to sew hellebores onto the Free People hat (we were delighted with the look of little butterflies resting on the brim - a perfect compliment to the delicate butterflies in the garden that day!). Both bouquets were tied with Natasha's hand-made and naturally died ribbons. Various silks were torn, dyed naturally, dried, trimmed, ironed and then tied around the bouquets as a finishing touch.

This winery in the Northern wine country region of Medocino County is the epitome of a destination experience. Their philosophy of tending to the earth and grapes, and leaving a legacy of beauty and kindness fit perfectly with our vision of a relaxed yet elegant affair that would be rooted in the simple beauty of the land and endure through time. The neutral tones and varied textures of the china, flatware, and linens from Theoni and La Tavola were inspired by the surrounding soil, stone, and lake on the property.

Aerialist Press designed letterpress stationery on lush cotton paper with the most delicate and ethereal vellum details, silk gauze ribbon, and white skeleton leaves. Florist Natasha Kolenko used loose, organic styling with an abundance of varietals for the florals, purposefully keeping each arrangement unique and one of a kind. The gardens at Campovida are like this, with each path different from the others, and as you meander through the six acres of gardens, the unexpected pops of color from dozens of various florals are waiting to be discovered. That sense of discovery, and time to relax and savor the destination was something photographer Anya Kernes and I really wanted to convey.

Natasha Kolenko sourced all of the blooms locally, adding even more depth to that sense of place: hellebores and garden roses from her own cutting garden, garden roses from Menagerie Rose Farm, foraged blooming branches and foliage. The two bridal looks lent themselves to two different styles of florals; one more formal and classic, and the other a bit more avant garde and modern. The peachy white more classic arrangements consisted of garden roses, butterfly ranunculus, campanula, lilac, and some foraged whimsical vines. The more modern mauve arrangements were made of Menagerie garden roses (Koko Lokos and Distant Drums), hellebores, tulips, and some drapey pieris. The monochromatic blushy mauve palette feels like a fresh take on pink, and is inspired by the Rose Di Grenache that is made at the winery!

Pretty Please Bakeshop brought our sweet dreams to life with not one, but seven wedding cakes! Wedding cake always a classic dessert choice, but we wanted to create something fresh and inspiring. The collection of petite cakes with various stone, marble, and floral textures mirrored the layers of texture and detail throughout the rest of the design. The only difficult decision here was which of the melt in your mouth buttercream cakes we wanted second helpings of!
